Etón Corporation Donates $140,000 in Preparedness Products to Help Victims of Typhoon Haiyan

(PALO ALTO – November 13, 2013) – Etón Corporation (www.etoncorp.com), a leading creator of high-performance, eco-minded consumer products, announces a donation of $140,000 worth of Etón emergency products and safety radios to help aid the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. In addition to the product donation, Etón will also donate 25 percent of all online sales placed through November 27th to the relief efforts.

The donations provided by Etón will help those recovering from the disaster have access to sources of light, information and power. Etón will be working with the San Jose, California-based non-profit group Project PEARLS, an organization that strives to end child poverty in the Philippines through various outreach programs, to help deliver the products.

"The San Francisco Bay Area is home to one of the largest Filipino populations in the United States and as a company based here, we feel personally touched as we have neighbors, co-workers and friends that are personally affected by this tragedy – our thoughts go out to everyone affected by the storm,” said Esmail Hozour of Etón Corporation. “We hope that through these donations, we can do our part to help in the relief efforts for those in the hardest hit areas."

For the past 30 years, Etón has worked to create and distribute products that help people recover from tragedy caused by severe weather. Whether it be loss of power at home or major damage to an entire area as a result of severe weather, Etón continues to service communities in need immediately after a disaster. The company has donated its safety radio products, which feature rechargeable batteries with multiple power sources (including hand crank and solar), AM/FM/WB radio, and LED flashlights, to communities across the world. Donations have been made to victims of the 2011 earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan, as well as to those affected by the 2013 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. Etón also partners with both the American and Canadian Red Cross, providing donations to aid these organizations in their efforts to help those impacted by disasters across North America.
